Interp for Mac and phone

Every voice, in yours.

Play a video. Join a call. Sit across a table from someone. Interp hears the other language and says it again in yours, one sentence at a time.

Mac and Android apps, in private beta.

Translating into English

यह कहानी बहुत पुरानी है और इसमें कई राजा और रानियां आते हैं.

This story is very old, and many kings and queens appear in it.

Not subtitles. A voice.

Interp mutes the original and speaks the translation in its place, in a voice made for your language. You don't read along. You just listen.

How it works

Hear. Understand. Speak.

  1. 01

    It hears

On your Mac, everything it plays, from any app or tab. On your phone, the person in front of you.

  2. 02

    It understands

Each sentence is written down in its own language and translated the moment it ends.

  3. 03

    It speaks

The translation is read aloud in a natural voice, with the words on screen if you want to read them too.

On your Mac

Whatever your Mac plays, in your language.

Interp sits in your menu bar. Turn it on and every video, call and podcast on your Mac comes through in your language.

Mac

Watch anything

YouTube, a lecture, an interview, the news from home. If your Mac can play it, Interp can translate it.

Mac

Understand a call

Meet, Zoom, WhatsApp, a webinar. You hear the other side in your language. They hear you as you are.

Mac

Keep the original near

Want the speaker's tone as well? Let the original play softly underneath the translation.

From any app
Press ⌃⌥T anywhere to start or stop. No switching windows.
As it's said
Each sentence is translated when it ends, even when the speaker never pauses.
Your choice of voice
Pick a voice for every language. Interp remembers each one.
Words on screen too
The window shows what was said in their language, and what you heard in yours.

One more thing

Captions that float over everything.

Watching full screen? Floating captions keep the latest translation on top of any app, on every desktop, without taking focus from what you're watching.

Translating into English

चन्द्रगुप्त मौर्य ने इस साम्राज्य की स्थापना की थी.

Chandragupta Maurya founded this empire.

On your phone

Interp goes where you go.

For the conversations that happen in person, and the messages that need to land in someone else's language.

Conversation Hindi and English · one phone
  • स्टेशन यहाँ से कितनी दूर है?
  • How far is the station from here?
  • About ten minutes on foot. Turn left at the temple.
  • पैदल लगभग दस मिनट. मंदिर पर बाएँ मुड़िए.

Phone

Talk face to face

Put the phone between you. Each of you holds a button, speaks, and hears the other in your own language, written and read aloud.

Phone

Listen in the room

A guide, a doctor, a shopkeeper. Hold the button while they speak, then read and hear it in yours.

Phone

Send it in their language

Say it in yours. Interp gives you a voice message in theirs, ready to send in any messaging app.

Android

Type in any app

A small bubble sits beside any text box. Hold it, speak, let go, and the translation is typed in.

Voices

A voice that belongs to the language.

Hindi isn't read by an American voice. Every language starts with a native one, and on your Mac you can choose another. Interp remembers your pick for each language.

  • Anika

Languages

68 languages heard. 48 spoken aloud.

What happens to what you hear.

Nothing kept on our server
Audio passes through Interp's server to be written down, translated and spoken. No recordings, no transcripts are stored there.
History stays on your phone
The phone app keeps finished sentences on the device, so you can read them again.
Who does the work
Deepgram listens. DeepL or Sarvam translates. Cartesia or Deepgram speaks. Each sees only what it needs.
Only for you
You sign in with your welldun account. Nothing works for anyone who isn't signed in.

Good to know

  • A sentence behind. Translation starts when a sentence ends, so it follows the speaker by a moment.
  • One way on calls. You hear them in your language. They hear you in yours.
  • Your Mac goes quiet. While Interp is on, other apps are muted so you hear only the translation. Turn it off and everything comes back.
  • Headphones on calls. Through laptop speakers, the people on a call may hear the translation too.

Hear the world in your language.
